  1. KBBS_40.ZIP is a authorized version of KBBS Shareware.
  2. It includes ALL the files needed to run your own KBBS.
  3.  
  4. KBB_40.ZIP (notice that it's spelled KBB, NO 'S') also
  5. is a share version but only includes the main program,
  6. and possible a few files or instructions that are also
  7. needed to UPGRADE your KBBS if you have already installed
  8. a version of our KBBS. IT WILL NOT RUN BY ITSELF; you must
  9. install the KBBS first before you can upgrade!
  10.  
  11. WARNING! If you have already installed a version of our
  12. KBBS_xxx.ZIP (where xxx is a version number) YOU MUST
  13. BACKUP YOUR EXISTING VERSION since the Installer program
  14. WILL writeover some of your files. Especially, you need
  15. a few files that setup your configuration and forums.
  16. If you do not know which ones you need, contact us for
  17. further instructions!

  19. If you receive the distribution disk, or download from
  20. a KBBS or BBS, check to see if it is one large ZIP file
  21. with the file extension ZIP and unzip it if necessary.

  23. To get things going, type INSTALL.  The KBBS Installer
  24. will take care of the rest. This is all designed to be
  25. easy, in keeping with our name:

  50. You download files from KISSWARE KBBS and print the
  51. manual on your own printer.  When your registration is
  52. received the necessary things you will need will be put
  53. on KISSWARE KBBS in your account. Interim upgrades will
  54. NOT be shipped to you on disk.

  56. OPTION #2
  57. ---------
  58. When your registration is received you will be furnished
  59. disk(s) in your choice of 3-/2 or 5-1/4 HD format and will
  60. be mailed to you along with all the information needed to
  61. install the latest disks. Notice of interim upgrades will be
  62. sent you and will be offered for cost of shipping/handling
  63. (aprox. $6 for first disk, $4 for each additional disk).

  67. When your registration is received you will be furnished
  68. a deluxe custom printed manual, disk(s) in your choice of
  69. 3-/2 or 5-1/4 HD format, and will be mailed to you along with
  70. all the information needed to install the latest disks.
  71. Notice of interim upgrades will be sent you and will be offered
  72. for cost of shipping/handling (aprox. $6 for first disk, $4 for
  73. each additional disk). Interim upgrades will include part or
  74. all of the manual which has been changed.

  76. BUSINESS/PROFESSIONAL VERSION

  78. ONE YEAR FREE Technical support is provided by telephone, e-mail,
  79. fax, letter, etc. This includes add on products from KISSWARE
  80. and special features you might need. We cannot afford 24 hours a
  81. day, but during regular business hours and often in the early
  82. evening someone will be able to talk to you on the phone. Also,
  83. a technician may be able to fix things by remote sysop logon so
  84. you won't have to fiddle with any technical things. You will also
  85. receive additional information like tips, hints, etc. to help
  86. make your KBBS a professional site. Some software offerings are
  87. only included in the professional version and are optional
  88. add-ons for the other versions.

  90. PERSONAL USE ONLY

  92. 90 DAY FREE Technical support is limited to e-mail or fax. NO
  93. TELEPHONE SUPPORT will be offered. You will normally receive an
  94. answer in aprox. 24 hours by e-mail on our KBBS or via fax.

  96. In order to receive the PERSONAL VERSION, you must agree to use
  97. your KBBS for hobby or personal (not for profit) use only, and
  98. provide KISSWARE with a permanent USER ID and PASSWORD to verify
  99. your usage of KBBS. Also, you must agree to keep the latest
  100. version of KBBS available on your computer for downloading and
  101. only release the official "shareware" version.

  103. EDUCATIONAL USE ONLY

  105. Same offering as PERSONAL VERSION except that your registration
  106. must include a letter from your School, College, or University
  107. certifying that the use is strictly for EDUCATIONAL USE ONLY.

  109. RELIGIOUS USE
  110. -------------
  111. Several churches have inquired about a special price or version.
  112. Since most schools have their own technical people, the savings
  113. is partly due to reduced support, plus our desire to help others
  114. learn more about computers. For RELIGOUS USE only, we will give
  115. the same price as the PERSONAL VERSION, provided that you also
  116. agree to keep the latest version of KBIBLE on your computer so
  117. others can download it. KBIBLE includes the complete KJV of
  118. the Bible.
